This past weekend marked a milestone in the life of CrossPoint–our very first Everybody Weekend. And what a weekend it was. From Hutchinson to Hays, Salina to Sterling, and every location in between, our one church in many places rallied together with a single heartbeat: to live as Everyday Missionaries by investing in and inviting others.

The beauty of Everybody Weekend was not simply in the numbers of people who filled our buildings, though that was encouraging. It was in the stories that surfaced. A neighbor finally said “yes” to an invite. Students invited their classmates. Co-workers came to church after being prayed over for months and even years. Hundreds of people who have never been to church or haven’t been to church in a long while heard the hope of the gospel as Pastor Andy preached from Philemon.

At its core, this weekend wasn’t about filling seats, it was about fulfilling the Great Commission. We don’t exist for ourselves but for those who are not yet a part of God’s family. Because we want to see God’s glory fill every place, we care deeply about the lostness of the world around us. The call of Everybody Weekend was simple yet powerful: every one of us has someone we can invest in and invite to take a step with Jesus. Every one of us has a role to play. When the church embraces this together, the ripple effects are eternal.

Because of Everybody Weekend, there will be more voices around the throne singing, “Worthy is the Lamb!”

Already, we are hearing of people who found Christ this weekend. Others discovered a community that welcomed them with open arms. Still others realized, maybe for the first time, that they belong at the table. God is using us as ordinary people being changed by Jesus to do extraordinary things.

But our mission doesn’t end here. If Everybody Weekend was a spark, the weeks ahead are an opportunity for that flame to grow. Invite someone to church this weekend! November 15-16th, we will celebrate our church-wide Baptism Weekend. This will be another powerful picture of what happens when we live on mission. Baptism is the outward sign of an inward transformation–people declaring that Jesus has saved them, and they now belong to Him.

So let’s keep growing. Let’s keep investing. Let’s keep inviting. Let’s keep pointing people to Jesus in word and deed. Imagine what God can do through hundreds of us living as Everyday Missionaries in our neighborhoods, schools, and workplaces. May He continue to use us in the mundane, day-to-day stuff of life, to see more people find life in Christ, find community, and find their place at the table.

To God alone be glory!
