PARTNERSHIP AT CROSSPOINT CHURCH
At CrossPoint Church, we call our membership “partnership.” While one term is not better than the other, we believe that membership can carry with it a sense of paying one's dues in order to receive the goods and services that come with their membership. Partnership, on the other hand, communicates that we are all rolling up our sleeves and are in this together.
“For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more
highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the
measure of faith that God has assigned. For as in one body we have many members,
and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body
in Christ, and individually members one of another. Having gifts that differ according to
the grace given to us, let us use them...” (Romans 12: 3-8)
As Christians, we are part of God’s household (Ephesians 2:19) called to function,
participate, and minister in a particular place within the body of Christ. Just as a healthy human requires each body part in order to function well, a healthy church requires the same: partners
who are sacrificially committed and well-equipped to do the works of service that God
has prepared in advance for us to do (Ephesians 2:10; 4:12). CrossPoint Church holds
it’s partners in high regard; we expect them to lead as missionaries of the gospel to the
surrounding culture. God, in His sovereignty, has placed us in this state, among these people, during this time, for a reason (Acts 17:26-27).
Being a partner of CrossPoint Church is really about being part of a family. All partners are disciples of Jesus who are unified by their identity in Christ. This unity is expressed by how our partners live out their calling to be Everyday Missionaries. Partners are called to a higher degree of responsibility and service while being led and loved by location pastors through sound teaching, counseling, guidance, prayer, and aid in times of need.
We take partnership seriously. If you are interested in becoming a partner at CrossPoint Church, your first step is to register and attend our Preview Class. Whether with CrossPoint or somewhere else, it would be our joy to help you in your journey of belonging to a local church!
